Bendon Baffles Washington Batters Monday, June 9th , 2025 The Washington Wildthings were almost helpless in their 11-0 loss to the Corpus Christi Mermen and hurler Chad Bendon. Bendon kept the Wildthings confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Bendon," Washington manager Danny Sanchez said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 37-year-old right-hander had no walks and 8 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Bendon said.
