Woody Leads Chiefs to Win
|
Led by Jason Woody, the Mescalero Chiefs defeated the Alcoa Millionaires, 13-5. Woody was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Chiefs. Marc Stephan claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 4.1 innings. His record stands at 2-0. Alcoa is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
Branden Barr broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the fifth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Chiefs in front, 6-5. For the game, Barr drove in one run, while scoring 2 runs.
"When you're losing, the game looks more difficult to play than it is," said Alcoa manager .
