Orono's Sanchez Voted StC's #1 Skipper Saturday, October 28th , 2023 Club officials have reported seeing Mike Sanchez at the ballpark as early as 7 am. His dedication, coupled with a shrewd management style and a knack for knowing "who's hot and who's not" earned Sanchez the Stripes Conference Manager of the Year Award for 2023. "I guess you could say I pushed all the right buttons at the right time for the Oaks to have the season we did. But keep in mind, too, that I also had a group of dedicated ballplayers who played their hearts out. I thank them for winning this award for me." There was much joy in Orono this season. Their beloved Oaks took first place in the Stripes Conference East Division, rounding out the year with a 82-62 record. |
