Thompson Named Top Reliever for StC Thursday, October 26th , 2023 At the young age of only 24, Kyle Thompson has been named the Stripes Conference Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2023. The future appears bright for the Tucson Raccoons relief ace, who captured the award with 38 saves in 53 relief appearances, 64 strikeouts in 64 innings and a record of 3-2 to go with his 1.27 ERA. He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 24. Jon Messer of the Quebec Fighting Quakers finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Sean Torkelson of the Walnut Park Bobcats finished third with 2 first place votes.
