Crawdads CF Boyd Suspended 2 Games Friday, August 21st , 2026 The Hickory Crawdads were officially notified that center fielder Chris Boyd had been suspended for an altercation that occurred in yesterday's game with the Pilots at Pilots Ballpark. After arguing a called third strike by the plate umpire, an enraged Boyd threw his batting helmet toward home after he reached the dugout. That action got him ejected and a 2-game suspension. "I threw the helmet and I shouldn't have. But I don't deserve the suspension. It was a bad call that started this whole mess." This year, Boyd has batted at a .297 pace with 74 hits, 14 home runs, 42 RBIs and scored 35 times. |
