Ulery Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Chesapeake Tuesday, July 28th , 2026 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 22-game hitting streak, Fremont left fielder Clark Ulery went hitless in 4 at-bats at Tailgators Ballpark. The sudden hitting drought came as the Marshalls snagged the 2-1 win over the Chesapeake Tailgators. "Nope, it's not magic," Ulery said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." So far this season, Ulery is batting .375 with 7 home runs, 27 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 51 hits in 136 at-bats, 9 walks and a .434 OBP. Ulery has played in 34 games. |
