September's StC Top Pitcher is Purple Wave Mendoza Thursday, October 1st , 2020 Jim Mendoza of New Rochelle had an award-winning September as he took home the Stripes Conference Pitcher of the Month award. "He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Mendoza's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in September except for Jim." Mendoza was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 3-0 record in 4 starts. He struck out 30 batters in 31.1 innings and kept opponents to a .235 batting average. This season Mendoza has registered 6 wins and 11 losses in 21 starts with a 3.66 ERA. |
