Best Season In StC Belongs To Jarka
Friday, October 29th , 2021
At the age of 23, Mitch Jarka of the Fremont Marshalls could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2021 was good enough to win the center fielder the Stripes Conference Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .279 batting average this year, as well as a .347 on-base percentage. He played 109 games and racked up 115 hits, 23 doubles, 6 triples, 21 home runs, 76 RBIs and 66 runs scored.
He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 24. Julio Negron of the Orono Oaks finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Jeff Wise of the Ann Arbor Z's finished third with 5 first place votes.
