Matadors End Yost Streak Wednesday, August 9th , 2023 Chris Yost, left fielder for the Portland Mad Ants, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Hartford Matadors. Not only did the Matadors break his 21-game hitting streak, they also beat Portland by the score of 2-1. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Yost said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." In this current campaign Yost is hitting at a .282 clip with 11 home runs and 38 RBIs. |
