Mack Premier Pitcher in July Tuesday, August 1st , 2023 The Spokane Selects celebrated today after the news filtered through the clubhouse that Rich Mack had been selected as July's Stripes Conference Pitcher of the Month. Mack's zest for the game has been a frequent topic on the sports pages and his numbers of late have made his fans even more enthusiastic. "Our coaching staff really helps me prepare well," Mack said, "and the fans feed off good pitching. Your pitches just seem to have that extra pop to them when the fans are behind you and you feel confident you can get outs." Mack tossed 37 innings last month, holding opponents to a .182 average while striking out 38 batters. In 5 starting assignments he came away with a 5-0 record, putting together an ERA of 1.46. Looking at his season stats, Mack has won 13 and lost 5, collecting 133 strikeouts and 27 walks in 144 innings with a 2.75 ERA. |
