Oaks Move on to League Championship Series Sunday, September 26th , 2021 Chris Medders sparked his Orono Oaks past the pesky Fremont Marshalls in a closely-contested Division Series. Orono topped Fremont 8-7 at Hedgehogs Ballpark to decide the series, 4-2 For his efforts, Medders was rewarded with the series MVP trophy for his .381 batting average, 7 RBIs and 2 runs scored. "You never want to leave anything on the field," Medders said. "You never want to miss a play of defense you could have made, or give up an extra base you could have gotten, because in a series this tight you never know what you'll need to win." The Orono Oaks will play against the Walnut Park Bobcats in the next round. Walnut Park won their series against the Hickory Crawdads 4 games to 1.
