Vega Goes Downtown 3 Times Against Indians
Wednesday, July 12th , 2023
Quebec Fighting Quakers third baseman Andres Vega put on a dazzling display of power at Black Diamonds Ballpark against the Dillonvale Indians. In the 11-1 Fighting Quakers victory, Vega penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.

"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Dillonvale manager Armando Cisneros said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."

Along with his three home runs, the 22-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Vega said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."

Andres Vega flied out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Ray Clark in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Nick Ashworth in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th.

This season, Vega has delivered 21 hits in 73 at-bats for a .288 average with 6 home runs. He is getting on base at a .361 clip and his totals also include 17 RBIs and 11 runs scored. This year Vega has played in 18 games.
