Hat Trick of Home Runs for MacPherson Tuesday, June 23rd , 2026 Mike MacPherson added his name in the record books after an explosive home run spree against the Denver Pilots. But despite joining the select list of sluggers to hit three home runs in a game, it didn't guarantee a victory. The Westwood Bruins fell to the Pilots, 10-9. In his big day at Jackie Robinson Stadium, the Westwood first baseman went 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. "It was just one of those days," he told BNN sportswriters in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball. "You would think three homers would win most games. It was good to hit 'em, but a win would have really made my day." Mike MacPherson grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jose Chacon in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Chris Anderson in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Ricardo Grados in the 9th. MacPherson is swinging at a .227 pace on the year with 6 home runs, 12 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has played in 35 games. |
