Ugly Incident Ends in 4-Game Suspension
Friday, August 19th , 2022
Jay McBurney of the Oaks has been suspended by the league commissioner's office for 4 games for his animated argument with a home plate umpire in yesterday's contest with the New Rochelle Purple Wave at Ballpark of Lexington. In the heated confrontation the Orono center fielder pointed to where the ball was and repeatedly pointed his finger in the ump's face and apparently made some contact. That's when he got ejected.

Reached for comment on the suspension, McBurney said, "I guess I'll have to learn how to not talk with my hands. They are a dangerous weapon according to the umpires."

This season in 97 games, McBurney is batting .246 with 10 home runs, 35 RBIs and has scored 50 times.
