League Suspends Muskies Widmer 3 Games Wednesday, May 22nd , 2024 Donovan Widmer has been penalized by the commissioner's office for his verbal and physical assault of an umpire. The second baseman unleashed his fury in protesting a third-strike call in yesterday's Glendale-Montreal game at Field of the Muskies. And now he has to pay for it -- Widmer has been suspended for 3 games for his unacceptable actions. The commissioner said in his statement that the league would have zero tolerance for any contact with an umpire, unintentional or otherwise. Widmer is swinging at a .200 pace on the year with 1 home run, 5 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has played in 18 games. |
