Selects End Gaylord Streak Monday, August 1st , 2022 It was a doubly miserable day for Justin Gaylord of the Quebec Fighting Quakers, as he saw his 22-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 8-1, to the Spokane Selects at Selects Ballpark. The 23-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Selects. "Anyone on a 22-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Spokane manager Chris McLure said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." So far this season, Gaylord has 2 home runs and a .303 batting average. |
