Thrice Is Nice: DeWitt Unloads 3 Homers Wednesday, July 27th , 2022 Fans are still buzzing after Little Rock whipped the Chesapeake Tailgators by the score of 9-0 at Tailgators Ballpark. Mike DeWitt smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the third baseman bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 7 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, DeWitt said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," DeWitt said. "Three is just... wow." Mike DeWitt hit a solo-shot off Dan Yeager in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Dan Yeager in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off Jonathan Estes in the 7th. Thus far this year, DeWitt is hitting .256 with 9 home runs, 31 RBIs and 22 runs scored. |
