Sklar Pounds 3 HR Tuesday, July 26th , 2022 It was a good day for the Walnut Park Bobcats and an exceptional one for Andy Sklar. The 23-year-old first baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Bobcats beat the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 6-4, at Ballpark of Walnut Park. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Sklar said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 5 runs and smacked 3 hits in 5 at-bats. Andy Sklar walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Chris Simon in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Landon Gross in the 9th, struck out in the 11th and hit a two-run home run off Jimmy Carr in the 13th. So far this season, Sklar has put up a .217 batting average with 26 hits, 10 home runs and 23 RBIs. |
