Mad Ants Andy Baker Down and Out for Year
Tuesday, June 29th , 2021
When Andy Baker was hurt against the Nashville Lasers, the Portland Mad Ants were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 29-year-old starting pitcher suffered a torn labrum throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Baker would miss 9-10 months of the season.
So far this year, Baker has made 15 starts, tossed 97 innings, struck out 94 batters and walked 20. His record is 8-5 with a 2.60 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .209 batting average.
