Craig Carter Injured, Out for Season
Sunday, June 23rd , 2019
The doctors have spoken and Craig Carter of the Erie Vipers didn't like what he heard. The 24-year-old third baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Carter sustained his season-ending injury during the Laredo Ghosts game yesterday at Saxons Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while colliding with a player at a base. Today the Erie medical staff reported Carter had a torn meniscus and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months.

Looking at his present stats, Carter has compiled a .201 batting average in 63 games with a .292 on-base percentage, while hitting 1 home run and driving in 24 runs.
