Big Day with Bat: Gural 5-for-5 Sunday, May 19th , 2019 It was a hits blitz for Jonathan Gural at Ballpark of Newport News today. The Montreal Royals second baseman tore into the Little Rock Governors for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Governors swept past the Royals 9-4 to ruin Gural's day. "We weren't locating our pitches well," Montreal manager Bobby White explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Jonathan was nice but it wasn't enough." Jonathan Gural doubled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. To date this season Gural is hitting .252 with 7 home runs. |
