Service 6-for-7 Against New York
Saturday, April 5th , 2025
Even as a kid, Chris Service said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Nightmare Stadium, Service showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 26-year-old right fielder had 6 hits in 7 at-bats for the Syracuse Scorpions, helping his team knock off the New York Nightmare by a score of 8-7.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
Chris Service singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and grounded out in the 11th.
So far on the season, Service is hitting .441 with no home runs, 4 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 15 hits and played in 8 games.
