Jemison Untouchable, Tosses No-Hitter
Friday, April 16th , 2021
Justin Jemison relied on excellent pitch selection and pinpoint control to hold Cincinnati hitless in a win, 3-0, at The Castle.
"Nobody goes out to pitch a no-hitter," he said later. "We just go out and try to get a win. A 10-9 win is better than a 1-0 loss. My pitching buddies might not be too happy giving up nine runs but a win is a win. The key to it today was I mixed my pitches well. I kept the Royals off balance and guessing the whole game."
The 22-year-old starter rung up 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in whipping the Royals.
"When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club," Cincinnati skipper Brad McBride said.
