Sweeton on Fire: 5-for-5 for Daytona Beach Monday, May 2nd , 2022 It was a sensational day at the plate for Daytona Beach Sea Turtles left fielder George Sweeton, but a tough one for the team, as the Sea Turtles dropped the contest, 14-3, to the Halifax Heathens. Even with the loss, Sweeton was pure misery for the Halifax pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-5 in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Sweeton, who is the 24-year old left fielder . "Sweeton really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Heathens manager David Morris told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." George Sweeton singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the year, Sweeton has hit .290 with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and scored 18 runs.
