Maine Takes Divisional Series in Deciding Game Tuesday, October 8th , 2024 The Maine Pines are heading to the Championship Series, having narrowly defeated the San Diego Fleet. Maine edged San Diego in the series 4-3, with a win at Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium in the clinching game by a 9-5 margin. Tyler Tolbert turned in a strong offensive performance for the Pines and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Tolbert continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .281 with a .324 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Maine Pines will play against the Charleston Sea Dogs in the next round. Charleston won their series against the Cincinnati Royals 4 games to 2.
