Desperados Advance to Divisional Series Sunday, October 4th , 2026 The Austin Desperados proved to be too much to handle for the Phoenix Gladiators in the Wildcard Game, and a sweep was the end result. Austin punched its ticket to the Divisional Series on the strength of a 3-1 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 2-0. Austin shortstop Giovanni Hearn, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Phoenix pitching to the tune of a .500 average, with a .429 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 0 runs. The Austin Desperados will play against the Halifax Heathens in the next round. Halifax had a bye in the Wildcard Game.
