Shiners Win Championship Series Wednesday, October 18th , 2023 The fans in Charleston are celebrating the Shiners victory over the Maine Pines in the Championship Series. They defeated the Maine Pines 6-2 in the finale played at Hannaford Dome to capture the series 4-1. Nelson Ziersch was chosen the series' Most Valuable Player. The Shiners left fielder batted .381, drove in 5 runs and scored 6 runs in the series. "The Pines are a good club and I don't mean any disrespect to their pitching staff, but things just felt easy this series," Ziersch said. "Everything at the plate seemed right." The Charleston Shiners don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Austin Desperados - Philadelphia Marauders series. Philadelphia leads the series 3 games to 1.
