Austin's Serna Gets 2000th Hit Friday, August 28th , 2026 The box score from yesterday's game will show that Austin beat the Cincinnati Royals, 9-5. It will also show that right fielder Leo Serna went 3-for-5 for the Desperados. It will not show, however, that Serna reached the 2000-hit mark for his career. The 34-year-old Serna reflected on the achievement after the game. He mused: "In one respect, it's a real milestone, I guess. Yet, it's just a base hit like any other base hit." Over his career Serna is batting .280 with 471 home runs and 1341 RBIs. In 1809 games he has delivered 2002 hits, scored 1153 runs, stolen 284 bases and gotten on base at a .320 clip.
