Austin Sweeps into the Divisional Series Saturday, October 1st , 2022 The Austin Desperados outclassed the Phoenix Gladiators in all facets of the game throughout the AC Wildcard Game. The end result was a Austin series sweep to advance to the Divisional Series, capped off by a 9-4 win in the final game. "We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said center fielder John Austin, who hit .500 in the series. Austin's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .556 on-base percentage and had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Austin Desperados will play against the Halifax Heathens in the next round.
