Harrington, Pirates Sink Bellflowers Again in Game 3
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of first baseman Jason Harrington, the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates got a road win against the Buffalo Bellflowers, 9-1, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series. Harrington slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for the Pirates, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 0.
Tom Modell, the Saint Pierre and Miquelon third baseman, contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 8-0, Pirates. For the game, Modell went 2-3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Modell.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Wegman's Field in Buffalo.
