Herrera Raps Syracuse for 5 Hits Saturday, August 19th , 2023 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Julio Herrera is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Syracuse Scorpions at Estadio Azteca. The monster effort from the 23-year-old third baseman helped the Halifax Heathens get the win, 10-7. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Scorpions manager Ricardo Lopez. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Julio Herrera hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year, Herrera has collected a .330 batting average to date with 117 hits in 355 at-bats, 58 RBIs, 10 home runs and scored 49 times. He has played in 97 games.
