Marauders Win Championship Series Thursday, October 21st , 2021 The joy and relief on the faces of the Philadelphia Marauders players was obvious as they celebrated their Championship Series win over the Detroit Giants. "In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Philadelphia second baseman Rick Joyce, shortly after the 9-7 win that clinched the series 4-3. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done." The team is now off to the World Series. Joyce won series MVP honors on the strength of his .379 batting average during the series. He also had a .455 on-base percentage and 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Philadelphia Marauders will play against the Cincinnati Royals in the next round. Cincinnati won their series against the Charleston Shiners 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the Championship Series finishes.
