Powered by Omar Luera, the Medford Desperados downed the Greensboro Naturals, 9-5. Luera went 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Desperados. Medford pitcher Raul Cisneros got the win, upping his record to 9-3. Masanori Kishimoto got the loss. Medford is now 52-21, Greensboro 31-42.

Luera made an early impact for Medford when he stroked his 10th home run of the season. The solo home run, which came in the top of the second, put the Desperados on top, 1-0.

"You can't take yourself too seriously," Luera told the Medford Herald. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
