2000 Hits for Ashley Saturday, August 31st , 2019 Detroit's Jonathan Ashley entered the record books today as he collected hit number 2000 at Ballpark of Detroit. "I am proud of this. Not too many players reach this level. You have to be around quite a few years and you have to get a lot of hits," Ashley said after the game. On his milestone day he went 2 for 4 as the Giants won 5-0 over the Indianapolis Eagles. In his career, Ashley is batting .263 with 2000 hits, 596 home runs, 1603 runs scored and 1435 RBIs.
