Ainsworth Batters Chicago for 5 Hits Sunday, August 14th , 2022 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Paul Ainsworth is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Chicago Gangsters at The Hideout. The monster effort from the 22-year-old shortstop helped the Austin Desperados get the win, 11-4. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Gangsters manager Brandon Harper. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Paul Ainsworth singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th.
