Lutz Slaps 5 Hits Sunday, July 10th , 2022 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Chris Lutz, it came around today. The 24-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Ballpark of Detroit to pace the 15-4 Detroit Giants victory over the Chicago Gangsters. Chicago skipper Brandon Harper told reporters in the press room that "Lutz deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Lutz hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Chris Lutz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Matthew Thomas in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
