Helm Shuts Out Indianapolis, 4-0 Saturday, June 12th , 2021 In an outstanding outing, Boston Whistlers starter Jay Helm tamed the Indianapolis Eagles with a 4-hit shutout at Whislters Park. The Boston hurler went the distance, finishing with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 4-0 win. "He had a lot of first-pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today." Up to now Helm has compiled an ERA of 2.91 with a 5-7 mark over 14 starts. He has 58 strikeouts in 105 innings and has held opponents to a .222 batting average.
