(SAN) Fullerton's Geeslin Down with Injury

Bill Geeslin of the (SAN) Fullerton Nuts was injured in today's game against Sandusky and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is back spasms, and he is expected to be out for up to 5 weeks. It happened while Geeslin was running the bases. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field."

The manager of the (CHS) Jupiter Hammerheads said he thinks Nick Wisniewski is only going to get better as he gets older.

He may only be 21, but it will be hard to top the right fielder's 2020 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Sun Coast Baseball League Most Valuable Player Award.

His winning campaign featured a .370 batting average and a .461 on-base percentage this year. In 38 games he piled up 61 hits, 8 doubles, 2 triples, 14 home runs, 41 RBIs and 50 runs scored.

He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 24. Brandon Fry of the (DET) Amarillo Dynamo finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Danny Pierce of the (PHI) Orlando Fire finished third with 2 first place votes.

The 2020 Best Pitcher in the Sun Coast Baseball League has been given to Tony Casablanca of the (CHS) Jupiter Hammerheads.

The Hammerheads ace worked 49.2 innings this season, crafting a 4-1 record and a 0.72 ERA in 8 starts. Casablanca collected 54 strikeouts while walking 12 and limiting opponents to a .129 batting average.

He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 24. Antonio Alvarez of the (DET) Amarillo Dynamo finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Jerome Abney of the (CHS) Jupiter Hammerheads finished third.
