Chicago had no answer for Syracuse Scorpions hurler Chris Dries, who overwhelmed Gangsters hitters as the Scorpions coasted to victory, 6-0. Dries yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 6-4. Elijah Miller recorded the save, making him 2 for 6.

The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the fourth inning, but Dries was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Chicago trailing 1-0, Dries retired Ryan Griffitt, who lined out.
