Scorpions Lose to Gangsters, 6-4
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Chicago Gangsters and Syracuse Scorpions.
The Chicago Gangsters beat the Syracuse Scorpions, 6-4, at The Hideout. Chicago first baseman Mike Gohlke banged out 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. Getting the save was Keith Kramer, his 14th.
Had Mark Bower not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Bower hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Gangsters.
Gohlke told a Chicago News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Chicago sits in second place in the American Conference Central Division at 31-51.
