The Hickory Crawdads got a magnificent performance from pitcher Chad Bendon, who muffled the New Rochelle offense en route to a tight, 3-0 Crawdads win at Ballpark of Lexington. Bendon got the win, improving to 10-4. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 5.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Dusty Nelson earned the save, his 8th.

Ricardo Herrera had a direct impact on the outcome. Herrera contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Hickory up, 3-0.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Bendon told the Hickory Today.

Hickory leads the Stripes Conference West Division by 6½ games.
