New Rochelle Purple Wave pitcher Brian Breen was all business, helping his team muzzle the Hickory Crawdads, 2-1. New Rochelle reliever Michael Klee was the winner. His record is now 6-2. Carlos Pardo took the loss. Landon Gross was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 16 save opportunities.
Dean Brum went 1 for 3 with a walk for New Rochelle. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Carlos Pardo. It was his 6th walk of the season.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Breen said after the game.
With the win, the Purple Wave hiked their record to 83-59.
