The Orono Oaks got a marvelous performance from pitcher D.J. Urbanek. The left-hander kept the Palm Springs offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 2-1 Orono victory at University of Maine Stadium. Urbanek, the winner, moves to 17-4. He threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. Picking up the save was Justin Cox. He's now 4 for 8 in save chances.

Chris Cooper had a big run-scoring double for the Oaks in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Orono leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Brent Gudim and swatted a double to right. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Oaks ahead, 2-0.

"Sometimes a win comes easy," Cooper told the Orono Herald. "And sometimes you have to scratch and claw."

The Oaks lead the Stripes Conference East Division by 11 games.
