Dillonvale Falls, 6-3, as Skid Hits 15 Games
|
The Walnut Park Bobcats licked the Dillonvale Indians, 6-3. Jeff Newingham deserved a big chunk of the credit. The second baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Bobcats. Kyle Sandor went 5.2 innings for Walnut Park to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs. He scattered 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record improves to 10-7. Heath Johnston was credited with the save, his 17th in 21 tries.
The Bobcats got a big at-bat from center fielder Juan Guerra. For the game, Guerra went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Walnut Park a 2-0 lead.
"Winning a ballgame these days," losing manager Markus Mensink told reporters, "is harder than big game hunting without a gun."
The Indians, now 24-118, have lost 15 in a row.
