Nash, Purple Wave Too Much for Fighting Quakers
The New Rochelle Purple Wave stopped the Quebec Fighting Quakers, 9-7, at Toros Ballpark. The Purple Wave got a big game from Kyle Nash, who was 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Brian Breen was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he yielded 6 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Mike Dean converted his 27th save in 28 tries.

New Rochelle used a well-timed hit by Bill Krepps to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Purple Wave ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Krepps told the New Rochelle Gazette.

New Rochelle is now 64-79.
