Nelson Swings Oaks to 7-5 Win
The Orono Oaks handed the Hickory Crawdads a loss at University of Maine Stadium. The final score was 7-5. Aaron Nelson was one of the major contributors for Orono. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Jeff Weingart was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 24 of 27 save opportunities. The first-place Crawdads dropped to 87-52.

Nelson contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Orono in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-2, Nelson took a curveball from Mike Deadrick and stroked the home run to left-center. His 19th home run of the season allowed the Oaks to leap in front, 5-3.
