The Walnut Park Bobcats beat the Quebec Fighting Quakers, 4-2. Walnut Park pitcher and St. Louis, Missouri, native Kyle Sandor led the way. Sandor, now 10-10, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Mike Garst, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
Walnut Park used a well-timed hit by Evan McCulley to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Bobcats ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
Walnut Park manager Perry Glickman commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
The defeat makes Quebec 74-67.
