New Rochelle Falters Again, Loses, 2-0, to Tucson
|
Behind an impressive start by Luis Mora, Tucson beat New Rochelle, 2-0. Mora picked up the win for Tucson, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3. Logan Mayhew earned save number 2 this season.
Tucson took a 1-0 lead on Justin Taitt's 21st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Taitt hit in the bottom of the seventh, left New Rochelle pitcher Jim Mendoza visibly frustrated.
Tucson manager Bill Escobar commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
Tucson has now won 4 straight, while the Purple Wave have lost 6 in a row.
