In a low-scoring affair between the Spokane Selects and the Westwood Bruins, pitcher Travis Thurber was the difference between victory and defeat. The Spokane right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Selects win. Ken Guzman earned the save for Spokane, his 5th. By defeating Westwood, the 4th-place Selects improved to 72-68.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Selects had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when catcher Josh Betts hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Justin Watson and made the score 2-0, Selects. Betts went 1-3.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Spokane manager Chris McLure.
