Nick Dragon pitched well, but his team, the Quebec Fighting Quakers, still dropped a 4-2 decision to the Palm Springs Heat at Heat Ballpark. Colin Esser, now 6-3, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0. Eric Sawyer recorded the save, his 1st.
Travis Letner contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. His at-bat helped Palm Springs get the win.
Letner said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
Palm Springs has now reeled off 8 straight wins.
