Fighting Quakers Thwart Pilots, 3-2

Andy Swift, who is tied for 10th in the StC in strikeouts with 151, was locked in. The left-hander led the Quebec Fighting Quakers to a 3-2 win against the Denver Pilots at Pilots Ballpark. The winning pitcher was Swift, now 8-10. He tossed 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. Jim Unknown wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
Noah Mitchell had a critical at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth for Quebec. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Quebec in front, 3-0.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Denver manager Adrian Collins.
The Pilots have now dropped 5 straight.
