Aces Earn 5-2 Win Against Purple Wave
The New Rochelle Purple Wave could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Ricky Valdez into a win. Instead, the Quebec Aces prevailed, 5-2, in 10 innings. Valdez threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The winner was Quebec reliever Jonathan Harvey, now 4-1. The loser was Jim Hudson. The second-place Aces improved to 78-56.

Quebec used the clutch hitting of Jimmy Scarberry to snag the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Aces ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

Scarberry called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
